Accreditation Statements

Physicians

Texas Medical Association logoThe Texas A&M Health Science Center (TAMHSC) Coastal Bend Health Education Center (CBHEC) is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The Texas A&M Health Science Center Coastal Bend Health Education Center designates this live activity for a maximum of 8.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.  

The presentations entitled, “Walking the tightrope: Ethically managing pain in out-patients with substance use disorders” and “Safe, appropriate use of opioids” are each designated as 1.0 hour of education in medical ethics and/or professional responsibility.

Family Physicians

This Live activity, 3rd Annual Opioid and Pain Management Conference, with a beginning date of 02/22/2020, has been reviewed and is acceptable for up to 8.00 Prescribed and 8.00 Elective credit(s) by the American Academy of Family Physicians. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Pharmacists

The Texas A&M Health Science Center Coastal Bend Health Education Center is  accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.

The 3rd Annual Opioid and Pain Management Conference has been accredited for up to 8.0 contact hours of ACPE continuing pharmacy education. 

The presentation entitled, “Texas Prescription Monitoring Program Updates,” UAN:  0834-0000-20-001-L03-P, is designated as 1.0 hour of law.

In order to receive continuing pharmacy education credit, pharmacists must participate in the session(s) and complete a reporting form and program evaluation at the conclusion of the conference. This activity is knowledge based.

Nurses

TAMUCC College of Nursing logoTexas A&M University-Corpus Christi College of Nursing and Health Sciences (TAMU-CC CONHS) is an approved provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Texas Nurses Association an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.

TAMU-CC CONHS Approved Provider will offer up to 8.0 contact hours.

To receive contact hours for this continuing education activity, the participant must:  attend the lecture(s) in its entirety, complete a CE reporting form and an online program evaluation for each session attended.
